Collision Repair
The collision repair segment of the collision repair inter-industry set into motion the founding of I-CAR in 1979 in response to the innovation of the unibody frame, just the first trickle in what has grown into a Technical Tsunami™. Today, collision repair centers committed to making complete, safe, and quality repairs are primarily consumers of I-CAR’s services and programming, including:
- educational programming, including more than 300 online, virtual and live courses that cover everything from the traditional basics of dent removal and welding to advanced knowledge and skills needed for ADAS calibration and electric vehicle repairs
- technical services like our Repairability Technical Support®, which offers technical articles, OEM search tools, best practices and Ask I-CAR™ real-time technical support
- credentialing programs considered the industry standard for training: Gold Class® for business and Platinum™ for technicians
Collision repair centers also give constant feedback on how well I-CAR is meeting their needs and collaborate with I-CAR on the Industry Protocol, which documents the requisite knowledge and skills for each collision repair role. This segment has representation on I-CAR’s Board of Directors and the Member Council, which serves as an information conduit between the industry and I-CAR.
