Industry Training Alliance®
I-CAR’s Industry Training Alliance exists to recognize the accomplishments of training through approved providers and to reduce training redundancy. All programs included in the Industry Training Alliance support the I-CAR vision that every person in the collision repair industry has the information, knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
The Training Alliance is now a component of I-CAR’s Sustaining Partner program. It was designed to strengthen the collision repair industry through increased collaboration and shared resources. To find out more about our Sustaining Partner program, click here.
Earning I-CAR Credit Through the Industry Training Alliance
With the Even Better I-CAR, credit for an Industry Training Alliance courses taken after October 7, 2019 can be automatically applied. After successfully completing a qualified Industry Training Alliance course, the course is submitted to I-CAR by the Industry Training Alliance provider for credit application to the student's record.
Please supply your I-CAR ID to the industry provider to ensure credit is applied to your training record efficiently.
Once validated, credit* is automatically applied to the student’s record at no additional cost to the student or the student’s shop. The elimination of fees for shops and students is thanks to Training Alliance providers for helping I-CAR to fund Alliance credits for the benefit of the industry.
The credit can be applied towards the I‑CAR Gold Class® Professionals and Platinum® Individual designation programs.
If you’re a Training Alliance provider, you can submit the completed courses online via your myI-CAR login. The courses can be added one at a time or all at once as a file upload. If this is your first time submitting Training Alliance courses for credit, contact us for access to the Training Alliance portal.
The duration of the course is considered when calculating course credit from an approved Industry Training Alliance Provider. It is a 1:1 calculation, however for half-hour increments duration is rounded up for the first half-hour and rounded down for subsequent half-hours. See the chart below for explanation:

Please note that course credit is applied according to the course completion date. To count towards an individual’s annual training cycle, the completion date needs to occur within the student’s annual training cycle.
