Insurance Training Requirements

Gold Class® recognition for repair program (DRP) shops generates tangible advantages for both organizations. That’s why so many insurers are incorporating it in their network requirements.
 
There are significant benefits to Gold Class shops that participate in DRP networks, particularly in terms of productivity. Gold Class shops with well-trained technicians repair vehicles faster and thereby shorten rental car days, both important factors in reducing the total cost to repair. This also provides a competitive advantage for both the shop and the insurer. The synergies between insurers and their DRP partners in providing complete, safe and quality repairs are significant.

OEM Training Requirements

I-CAR collaborates with OEMs to deliver role-relevant, industry-recognized solutions for collision repair training and related services.

Many OEMs require or recommend I-CAR training for their Collision Repair Networks (CRNs). The Professional Development Program™ (PDP) offers a recognized path for this training, providing repair technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. Through the PDP, CRN participants may achieve Gold Class™ recognition and/or Welding Training & Certification™ -- providing the OEM with clear criteria for establishing vehicle repair quality expectations.
