Career and Technical Schools
The education segment of the collision repair inter-industry, made up of high schools, colleges and technical schools with collision repair programs, recruits new talent to the industry and provides the training ground for the next generation of collision repair workers. The education segment receives financial support from I-CAR and is a consumer of I-CAR’s services and programming, including:
- a base collision repair curriculum package equivalent to the I-CAR ProLevel 1® learning path for refinishing and non-structural technicians
- optional training for educators that enables them to administer I-CAR welding certification testing to their students
- technical services like our Repairability Technical Support®, which offers technical articles, OEM search tools, videos, and best practices that can be used to supplement classroom lesson plans
The education segment also collaborates on the joint I-CAR - Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) talent programming initiative. This segment has representation on I-CAR’s Board of Directors and the Member Council, which serves as an information conduit between the industry and I-CAR.
