I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, has announced several milestone accomplishments made possible through its ongoing commitment to supporting the industry. In March, the organization achieved a significant milestone, having taught its ten millionth student credit hour over its 35-year legacy. And through the continued strong demand for I-CAR training, I-CAR was able to also give back to the Inter-Industry through a significant donation to the Collision Repair Education Foundation™ for the second year in a row.
John Van Alstyne, I-CAR CEO & President, sees these accomplishments as a natural result of the industry trend that places increasing value on training. Van Alstyne explained, “Our ten millionth credit hour represents the hard work and dedication that collision repair professionals put into their work every day. Through ongoing role-relevant training, our vision is that every person in the collision repair industry has the knowledge, education and solutions required to perform complete and safe repairs – for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.”
In 2013, I-CAR committed to set aside $1 for every I-CAR class attended by students in 2014 – resulting this year in the significant $170,000 donation to the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
The donation, which was made by I-CAR on behalf of the Inter-Industry, supports the Collision Repair Education Foundation in advancing its mission. I-CAR and the Collision Repair Education Foundation work together to support and improve secondary and post-secondary education for the benefit of our industry. I-CAR serves as a provider of technical training curriculum to the education segment, whereas the Collision Repair Education Foundation’s objective is to advance collision repair secondary and post-secondary education by supporting funding for both schools and students.
For its part, I-CAR is delighted that these achievements have taken place in a milestone anniversary year. Van Alstyne said, “The evolution and impact of I-CAR over the last 35 years is exciting and impressive,” he continued, “And as vehicle technology continues to evolve, you can count on I-CAR to do the same, expanding our relevance and the value we deliver to the collision repair industry.”
