Recent Updates

I-CAR recently enhanced our Professional Development Program™ and online experience. With technical advancements, technical obstacles often follow. Thank you for your patience as we have continued to work on resolving issues you may have experienced with the launch of our new IT platform in October, and with some of our online and virtual courses. I-CAR values diverse customer feedback and is striving to remove roadblocks that hinder the overall web and training experience. See below for recent updates to our system and upcoming items to be addressed in future updates.

Platinum Recognition
Individuals can now view progress toward Platinum™ recognition. The snapshot under My Training on a student level helps to identify training milestones to help plan toward achieving individual and/or organizational goals.  (Effective date: March 21, 2020)

If a record for an individual that achieved Platinum did not migrate correctly, the Gold Class status report was affected. This affected a small population but it was identified and addressed in our recent release to ensure student and location-level records are reflecting accurate data. (Effective date: March 21, 2020)

If a technician’s Platinum status expired, his/her ProLevel progress was reverting back to ProLevel 1. The system was updated to keep a Platinum individual ProLevel progress even if the Platinum recognition expires allowing an individual to start their journey to progress from where he/she ended. (Effective date: January 22, 2020)

Reminder: If a Platinum technician does not renew any certificates and/or progress through gap training, his/her Platinum status will not renew.

Gold Class
The Gold Class® Planner for Training Managers includes a link that now provides more details into the courses counted, in addition to Vehicle and Technology Specific courses, toward annual training requirements. (Effective date: March 21, 2020)

Reporting efficiencies were built into our Gold Class Status Report to ensure real-time updates are shown. (Effective date: March 21, 2020)

Please note a Gold Class Training Requirement Details report was added for Training Managers in response to customer input I-CAR received since launch. This new report provides more detail into the remaining training requirements for a location to achieve or maintain Gold Class recognition before their Gold Class renewal date. (Effective date: March 21, 2020)

An issue was identified causing annual training and ProLevel® completion to mistakenly count for two Gold Class® renewal cycles. The system was updated to reflect a more accurate percentage towards Gold Class completion. (Effective date: February 3, 2020)

Annual Training
For a portion of individuals, annual training counts were identified as having some error in recording from when data was migrated to the new system. The issue was corrected and annual training counts are accurate. (Effective date: March 21, 2020)

Any core curriculum, Vehicle and Technology Specific Training™ (VTST) and Industry Training Alliance™ courses will count towards the six course minimum to meet annual training requirements. At launch, only VTST courses were counted. This was updated to include more comprehensive curriculum choices. (Effective date: February 10, 2020)

If a student has an expired certificate the system is reflecting the certificate's course as "in progress" and added to the annual training count. This resulted in an overstatement of annual training progress and may have resulted in an inability to purchase required coures via the Gold Class Planner. The system will be updated to reflect the accurate course needs based on annual training requirements so the courses can be purchased accordingly. (Anticipated effective date: February 24, 2020)

Gold Class Kit
Training Managers
of Gold Class shops can now access digital resources to promote a shop’s Gold Class status. In addition, there is a digital Gold Class certificate available when training manager’s log into myI-CAR. (Effective date: February 3: 2020)

Future Updates

Rather than releasing updates as ready, we will now endeavor to “group” updates and advise customers of the changes they should expect to see once deployed. Our goal is to address remaining recognition issues you might be experiencing groupings.

The goal of the next group of updates is to resolve remaining customer impacting issues, which generally are not system-wide issues, and are more unique to certain populations in nature.

Reporting for Large Organizations
Reports are being updated and customized to meet the needs of organizations who use reporting to ensure compliance with network requirements.

Seat Assignment
When a live course is selected, often times a seat assignment is not completed. Please remember to complete seat assignments after the purchase is complete. Prompts will be built within the system to help users remember to complete this important step.
