I‑CAR recently enhanced our Professional Development Program and online experience. With technical advancements, technical obstacles often follow. Thank you for your patience as we have continued to work on resolving issues you may have experienced with the launch of our new IT platform in October 2019, and with some of our online and virtual courses. I‑CAR values diverse customer feedback and is striving to remove roadblocks that hinder the overall web and training experience. See below for recent updates to our system and upcoming items to be addressed in future updates.

Collision Repair

Platinum Recognition

  • Effective date: January 10, 2022
    A new report which identifies courses required for technicians to achieve or maintain Platinum is now available under the “Gold Class® Summary” menu in myI‑CAR®. This report may also be exported to csv format.
  • Effective date: July 13, 2021
    If a technician’s Platinum recognition expires, gap training for ProLevel 1, ProLevel 2 and ProLevel 3 will be required to fulfill knowledge and skills gaps before achieving Platinum Recognition.

    If a Platinum individual expires with only a certification renewal requirement remaining, gap training will update upon expiration of Platinum recognition.

    The All Training Report accurately reflects Platinum renewal dates within a current Gold Class renewal cycle.

    Platinum Recognition renews on an individual’s Platinum renewal date even when requirements for renewal are met prior to that date.

    Platinum discounts for new course enrollments will automatically apply in the shopping cart for students who achieved Platinum Recognition.

    Individuals can now view progress toward Platinum recognition. The snapshot under My Training on a student level helps to identify training milestones to help plan toward achieving individual and/or organizational goals.

    If a record for an individual that achieved Platinum did not migrate correctly, the Gold Class status report was affected. This affected a small population but it was identified and addressed in our recent release to ensure student and location-level records are reflecting accurate data.

    If a technician’s Platinum status expired, his/her ProLevel progress was reverting back to ProLevel 1. The system was updated to keep a Platinum individual ProLevel progress even if the Platinum recognition expires allowing an individual to start their journey to progress from where he/she ended.

Reminder: If a Platinum technician does not renew any certificates and/or progress through gap training, his/her Platinum status will not renew.

Gold Class Reports and Requirements

  • Effective date: February 21, 2022
    When a Location Level course was complete, the Gold Class Status Report reflected a “not required” status. This was updated to reflect 100% completion to reduce confusion.

    The Gold Class Planner, Gold Class Status, and Gold Class Training Requirement Details reports match to reflect the same training requirements.

    myI‑CAR® users will be able to quickly see how many locations are managed for their login without having to manually count the locations. This count includes placeholder accounts used to differentiate state and/or regional setup.

Welding

  • Effective date: October 25, 2021
    A “Training Required” column was added to the welding report in myI‑CAR. This column reflects the training required by the individual in their declared role to achieve or maintain Gold Class.

    The All Training Report uses welding certification records to display welding certification courses.

    A welding course was updated to consider the corresponding prerequisite prior to enrollment.

Annual Training

  • Effective date: September 10, 2021
    Annual Training cycles were updated to prevent advancing the cycle date before the yearly period for students in an annual training cycle.

    Annual Training cycles were updated to reflect an accurate annual training cycle end date for individuals with annual training requirements in 2021.

    I‑CAR is updating the six-course annual training requirement to consider course duration for annual training credit. This applies to both I‑CAR and approved courses that students complete with Industry Training Alliance® providers. Student training records were retroactively updated for all courses submitted for I‑CAR training credit from Training Alliance providers and completed with I‑CAR beginning from our PDP enhancement launch date on October 7, 2019.
  • Effective date: April 20, 2020
    For student on an annual training cycle, options for annual training are more clearly provided within the Gold Class Planner with separated tabs for I‑CAR and Industry Training Alliance® courses.

    For a portion of individuals, annual training counts were identified as having some error in recording from when data was migrated to the new system. The issue was corrected and annual training counts are accurate.
  • Effective date: February 24, 2020
    If a student has an expired certificate the system is reflecting the certificate's course as "in progress" and added to the annual training count. This resulted in an overstatement of annual training progress and may have resulted in an inability to purchase required coures via the Gold Class Planner. The system will be updated to reflect the accurate course needs based on annual training requirements so the courses can be purchased accordingly.

    Any core curriculum, Vehicle and Technology Specific Training (VTST) and Industry Training Alliance courses will count towards the six course minimum to meet annual training requirements. ProLevels

  • Effective date: January 25, 2021
    When a technician is assigned as a Role Representative on the roster, the technician will remain a Role Representative even if the shop eventually removes the technician from the roster.

    For a group of individuals on ProLevel 1 or ProLevel 2, course completions were updated to reflect an accurate status.

    For a group of individuals with ProLevel completion issues due to gap training requirements, ProLevel completions were updated to reflect an accurate status.

Gold Class Kit

    Training Managers of Gold Class shops can now access digital resources to promote a shop’s Gold Class status. In addition, there is a digital Gold Class certificate available when training manager’s log into myI‑CAR.

Insurance

  • Effective date: July 13, 2021
    The Insurance Planner was enhanced to improve overall user experience for Trainin Managers.

    Training Managers can download a Gold Class status report for their organization within myI‑CAR.

Platinum Recognition Discounts

Industry Training Alliance

    Courses completed with an approved Industry Training Alliance Provider will reflect a term typical of courses, and any certifications associated with the course will reflect the appropriate term timeframe for the skill.

Technician Transfers

    The employee transfer experience for MSOs was updated to enhance the Training Manager experience for better training management.

Training Progress Clarity

    Training Progress reflected in myI‑CAR was recently enhanced to provide more clarity on course completions and requirements.

Receipts

  • Effective date: February 22, 2021
    Itemization was added to purchase history for more detailed receipt needs.

Credits and Refunds

  • Effective date: December 21, 2020
    Refunds cannot be issued for courses that were enrolled in over 90 days prior, but a credit can be issued for equivalent value.

Log Out

  • Effective date: November 23, 2020
    A prominent “Log Out” button was added to the myI‑CAR experience to allow users to log out of their experience more efficiently.

Gold Class Requirements

  • Effective date: December 21, 2020
    Training progress shown in the myTraining Progress area of an individual’s myI‑CAR experience, now matches the Gold Class status report.

    Requirements for individuals aligned to ensure consistency with a location’s Gold Class cycle.

Live/Virtual Courses

  • Effective date: November 22, 2021
    Learners will see virtual courses that he/she had scheduled but did not attend. In addition, a “use before” date will appear to ensure the course is completed within 45 days of the “no show” course session date.
  • Effective date: October 26, 2020
    Automation was created to unenroll students who did not attend a live or virtual session. After 45 days, a location can re-enroll in the course.
  • Effective date: October 25, 2021
    Training Managers managing seat assignments for a live/virtual course session will now be able to view a technician’s activation status on the same screen. Activation is required prior to attending a live/virtual course session. Now Training Managers can more easily identify which technicians need to activate to successfully attend the live/virtual course.

    Training Managers managing seat assignments for a live/virtual course session will now see a technician’s current shop location at the time of seat assignment request. Previously the technician’s shop location at the time of enrollment displayed.

    The session day is now displaying the accurate day of the week for a given event date. Previously, if an event occurred during the evening hours an incorrect day displayed.

Roster Export Function

    Training Managers now have the capability to export rosters to CSV/Excel files for shops they manage. This feature is available in the Training Manager dashboard.

Pay in Full

  • Effective date: September 21, 2020
    The option to pay a balance in full has been added to the shopping cart experience. This was added for assigned Payor’s at organizations who are currently paying for programs that have a monthly payment plan but would like to pay the remaining balance in full prior before the payment term is ended.

Live/Virtual Search Function

    Additional fields were added to the live event request to improve upon the user experience.

Training Manager Dashboard

Live/Virtual Seat Assignment

  • Effective date: August 17, 2020
    Search function capabilities were enhanced for a better user experience and more defined search results.

Roster Updates

  • Effective date: July 13, 2020
    Larger shops were experiencing “crashing” issues. This was corrected and an updated format was released to resolve any further interruptions.
  • Effective date: June 15, 2020When a student is removed from an organization's roster, the student will be automatically unenrolled to courses purchased by the Training Manager for the student previously.

    If a student is removed from a roster, the student will not appear on a reactive event’s attendance page.

Live/Virtual Courses

    Some users experienced difficulty assigning their team or themselves to a live or virtual session. The issue was identified and resolved.

    When assigning a seat to a session, the address did not populate correctly for a small population of users. This has been resolved for an improved user experience.

Prerequisites for Events

    When requesting a Welding Training & Certification, Hands-On Skills Development, live/virtual course or private In-Shop Event, Training Managers can now add the prerequisites to the cart at the same time to streamline the purchasing experience.

Export Live/Virtual Course Seat Assignment

  • Effective date: March 21, 2020
    To support training management functions, seat assignments for a scheduled live or virtual course can now be exported by a Training Manager.

Event Seat Adjustments (Welding, Hands-On Skills Development, Private In-Shop Events)

  • Effective date: January 13, 2020
    There was an issue causing the whole event at a shop to cancel when a student was added to an event roster without payment. This is corrected. The whole event will not be cancelled. When a student is added to an event’s roster, please proceed with payment for the individual student to complete the roster adjustment.

Navigation – Search Function

  • Effective date: December 21, 2020
    When searching for a course, the advanced search function was updated to show role-relevant, course type, and/or ProLevel results based on the selected filters.

    Search functions for live, online and virtual courses are now available on a mobile platform.

Launch myLearning

Virtual “No Show” Notifications for All Location Training Managers

  • Effective date: February 21, 2022
    All current Training Managers at a location will receive notifications of “no shows” after a virtual session takes place. Previously, only the Training Manager who purchased the course received communication updates.

Duplicate Course Enrollment Fix:

  • Effective date: December 18, 2021
    If a learner was previously unenrolled from a course but completed the course at a later date after re-enrollment, multiple enrollments of the same course were allowed erroneously in some instances. The system was updated to prevent this from occurring in the future.

Automated Spanish Course Enrollment

  • Effective date August 17, 2020
    Students who select “Spanish – Latin American” as their learning language preference will be automatically enrolled in a Spanish translated course when a course with an English equivalent is selected for enrollment. Click here for more details.

Course Completion and Welding Certification

  • Effective date August 17, 2020
    Certificates of completion for all courses, including Welding Training and Certification courses, that were completed prior to launch on October 7, 2019 are available for digital download.

Course and PostTest

  • Effective date: June 15, 2020
    A small amount of users who enrolled in courses with a posttest were experiencing an issue where the posttest appeared, bu tthe courses did not populate in their Launch myLearning experience. This issue was corrected and resolved so it does not occur again.

Virtual Course Format

  • Effective date: May 18, 2020
    To help our Training Managers and students receive timely updates with seat availability when enrolled in one of the four converted courses, email notifications will be sent advising open virtual sessions are available for seat assignment.

    All virtual courses were converted from Adobe Flash to Adobe Connect for an overall improved user experience.

Seat Assignment Duplication

  • Effective date: April 20, 2020
    Seat assignments for some users were erroneously duplicating. This issue was addressed and corrected.

Posttests for Live Sessions - Previously Enrolled Students

    For students who were enrolled in live sessions, posttests were posted to their Lauch myLearning experience.

Enhanced Dashboard

    Students and Training Managers will see an enhanced dashboard experience with emphasis on learning progress and completion.

Certificates

    Individual course certificates for courses available in enhanced Professional Development Program are now available when you select Launch myLearning.

Online Course Launch

    In order to resolve the difficulties a student may have experienced while progressing through a course, the I‑CAR team monitored and adjusted courses as needed by redeploying some that were identified as having completion issues and updating the status for specific students that were stuck “in progress” and unable to successfully “complete”.
