Nissan North America has identified that the I-CAR® Gold Class® designation is a required component for certification with the Nissan Certified Collision Repair Network program.

The I-CAR Gold Class designation ensures quality-trained professionals have the information, knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs.

Along with complying with all requirements of the program, Nissan Certified Collision Centers must obtain and maintain the I-CAR Gold Class designation through the I-CAR Professional Development Program™.

Online Training Modules

Nissan partnered with I-CAR to offer a series of online training modules specific to the brand. This training opportunity is open to the public but mandatory for shops within the Nissan Certified Collision Repair Network. Certified Collision Centers must have a minimum of 2 technicians pass each of the courses below within 90 days of their certification approval.

Nissan GT-R® Repair Series

I-CAR offers a three-course series on the high-performance Nissan GT-R. The online Nissan GT-R® Repair Series contracted by Nissan is part of the Vehicle and Technology Specific Training® curriculum. The courses, or prior completion of the discontinued hands-on GT-R training, are required for GT-R Certified Collision Centers.

I-CAR offers a course focusing on the 2018 Nissan LEAF's features and technologies, such as ProPILOT Assist, e-Pedal and other Intelligent Driving features. Calibration procedures for ADAS systems and repair considerations for the body structures, high voltage systems, heating and A/C, electronic cooler systems, and steering and suspension are also discussed. 

The three courses in the series must be taken in order. They include:

Nissan GT-R®

A review of the GT-R Heritage, vehicle construction and special materials are in the first course. The importance of the GT-R Certified Collision Repair Network is presented.

Nissan GT-R® - Repair Considerations

Topics include damage analysis, structural repair procedures, aluminum and carbon fiber-specific considerations, CELETTE bench requirements and paint considerations.

Nissan GT-R® - Diagnostics

Learn about the importance of diagnostic scanning of the GT-R, safety features offered in the vehicle and electrical considerations.

Professional Development Program
