I‑CAR Platinum

I‑CAR Platinum™ is a nationally recognized achievement earned by collision repair professionals who’ve spent hours mastering the skills needed to work on today’s vehicles. It represents advanced training, up-to-date knowledge, and a deep commitment to performing safe, quality repairs the right way—every time.

What Is Platinum?

The Platinum designation is awarded to individuals who complete I‑CAR’s detailed, role-specific collision repair training. Whether you’re an automotive technician, estimator, or appraiser, earning Platinum shows you understand the latest vehicle systems and repair procedures. It also helps your business earn or maintain I‑CAR’s Gold Class recognition.

Platinum Training Standards

Platinum training is structured across three levels: ProLevel 1, 2, and 3.
To maintain your Platinum status, you must complete six training course credits each year by your renewal date.

Falling behind puts your recognition at risk—but your progress isn’t lost. Completed ProLevel credits are retained, and any missed training can be completed to reinstate Platinum.

Appraiser Platinum Changes

Starting August 2026, Auto Physical Damage Appraisers (APDAs) will need to complete ProLevel 1, 2, and 3 training to become Platinum. This auto collision training ensures APDAs are prepared for the future of claims processing and advanced vehicle technology, staying aligned with industry standards.

What Platinum Professionals Are Saying

“I personally have been an I‑CAR individual for 23 years and it has led me to the career I am in now with all the different kinds of training available. I use I‑CAR when I have an entry-level estimator or technician. I also have our CSR take classes to get familiar with the business.”

“Being Platinum allows me to feel more confident in the answers I am giving as I help develop and train new adjusters, many of whom were not "car people" just like I was when I started with the company. This experience has truly come full circle for me and it feels awesome to be able to contribute.”

Tre Forde
GEICO

“I have been in the collision industry for 22 years… I have gone from sweeping floors to owning my own shop with my brother who is also Platinum status. It is always nice to have continuing education in this ever-changing field.”
