Brad Gutcher, manager - segment development insurance, represented I-CAR® at the annual Claims Education Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana, in May. I-CAR was the lead sponsor of the four-day conference. Our tabletop booth promoted various programs and services geared to the insurance industry. Gutcher also performed a brief skit for attendees – in casual attire with a boogie board featuring I-CAR graphics on one side and a Technical Tsunami design on the other side – about the Technical Tsunami that is bearing down on the auto industry.

The skit highlighted the constant stream of advanced technologies and new lightweight structural materials that are incorporated into today’s vehicles. Gutcher emphasized why insurance professionals need to be savvy about these changes and how I-CAR’s Insurance Gold Class® training program is designed specifically to educate auto physical damage appraisers (APDAs) about the repair processes for these new systems and materials.

The Claims Education Conference is presented by the  American Educational Institute (AEI), Society of Claim Law Associates (SCLA) and International Insurance Institute (III). It provides claims-relevant education and opportunities to network with other claims professionals who share similar concerns and challenges. The conference also includes a vendor exhibition hall that showcases products and services relevant to the propertyand casualty insurance industry.
